RAHMA Interview

SMYLe: How do you become a member and what do you expect from your members?

RAHMA: To become a member, simply fill in the membership form and return it to RAHMA at our correspondence address. All that we expect from our members is that they refuse to be victims who suffer in silence. If you are being victimised because you are a Muslim, or you know someone who is, make sure you (or they) report it to RAHMA, to the Swansea Bay Racial Equality Council and to the Minorities Support Unit of South Wales Police. If you can give us your email address on the membership form, we can send you alerts on anti-Muslim or Islamophobic articles or programmes in the media and tell you the best ways to complain. Membership is free and you will b playing your part in standing up for yourself and the legitimate rights of fellow Welsh Muslims.

SMYLe: Do you have any final advice for Muslims in Swansea in light of the present situation facing us?

RAHMA: Yes, we would urge that all members of the Muslim community take the following precautionary measures:

· Be Vigilant (alert and watchful).
· Do Not Open Suspect Packages.
· Report All Harassment, Whether It Is Verbal, Physical Or Psychological, To The Police, RAHMA And   SBREC.

As Muslims we must remain firm in our beliefs and have patience. We should remember that:

‘Allah puts no burden upon any person beyond what He has given him. Allah brings about ease after difficulty.’ (Translated Meaning of the Holy Qur’an Ch. 3 V. 160)
